Manuscripts submitted to SIGMA: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika will be screened using the Turnitin similarity detection tool. This journal will immediately reject any manuscript that contains plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
SIGMA: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika is committed to ensuring that all authors exercise due diligence and adhere to international standards of academic integrity, particularly concerning the issue of plagiarism.
Plagiarism occurs when an author appropriates ideas, information, or wording from another source without providing proper acknowledgment or citation. Even when done unintentionally, plagiarism is considered a serious academic offense and is unacceptable in international scholarly publishing.
When an author obtains specific information (such as names, dates, locations, statistical data, or other detailed information) from a particular source, a citation is required. Exceptions are made for common knowledge, which refers to data or facts that are widely available from more than five sources or are generally recognized (e.g., the fact that Indonesia is the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world).
When an author draws upon ideas from another source, citation is still required, even if the author further develops those ideas. These ideas may relate to data interpretation, methodology, conclusions, developments in a field, or general information. Regardless of the nature of the idea, the original source must be cited. If the author builds upon the idea, the original source should be cited first, followed by the author's own elaboration in the subsequent sentence(s).
When an author directly uses wording from another source, both citation and quotation marks are required. If four or more consecutive words are identical to those in the source, quotation marks must be used to indicate a direct quotation; a citation alone is insufficient.
SIGMA: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika takes academic integrity very seriously. The editorial team reserves the right to revoke an article’s acceptance if any violation of these ethical standards is discovered.
