PENGARUH ENGLISH FOR MATHEMATICS LEARNING DAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS TERHADAP PRESTASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh English for Mathematics Learning (X₁) dan keterampilan berpikir kritis (X₂) terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa (Y). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei korelasional. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester 3 Program Studi Teknik Informatika di Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Bina Sarana Global yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah Kalkulus. Sampel ditentukan secara purposive sampling dengan kriteria mahasiswa aktif, mengikuti perkuliahan Kalkulus, dan bersedia menjadi responden. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket English for Mathematics Learning, tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta data prestasi akademik berdasarkan nilai akhir Kalkulus. Uji validitas menggunakan korelasi product moment, sedangkan reliabilitas diuji dengan Cronbach’s Alpha. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial melalui regresi linear berganda menggunakan SPSS setelah melalui uji asumsi klasik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pencapaian akademik. Model penelitian mampu menjelaskan lebih dari separuh variasi prestasi mahasiswa, yang menegaskan pentingnya kemampuan bahasa Inggris akademik dan keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran matematika. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan bahwa integrasi strategi pembelajaran berbasis English for Mathematics dan penguatan kemampuan berpikir kritis perlu dioptimalkan dalam kurikulum untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil belajar mahasiswa. Selain itu, dosen dapat memanfaatkan pendekatan bilingual serta latihan analitis terstruktur guna memperkuat pemahaman konsep dan performa akademik mahasiswa.
