Publishing Process

The publishing process in Profitability: Jurnal Ilmu Manajemen is conducted systematically to ensure academic quality, integrity, and compliance with international publishing standards (Scopus standard). The process consists of the following stages:

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Authors submit manuscripts online through the Open Journal System (OJS).

  • Manuscripts must follow the journal’s Author Guidelines and be free from plagiarism.

  • A statement of originality and copyright transfer agreement must be attached.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

  • The editorial team evaluates the manuscript for scope, format compliance, and plagiarism check (using Turnitin or similar software).

  • Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements will be returned to the author for revision or directly rejected.

3. Peer Review Process

  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are reviewed under a double-blind peer review system by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

  • Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, methodology, clarity, relevance, scientific contribution, and ethical compliance.

  • The review process typically takes 2–4 weeks per review round.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Minor revision (must be resubmitted within 7 days)

  • Major revision (must be resubmitted within 14 days and re-reviewed)

  • Reject (if the manuscript fails to meet scientific or ethical standards)

5. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments.

  • Revised manuscripts must include a response to reviewers document that clearly explains changes made.

6. Final Decision and Copyediting

  • Once revisions are approved, the manuscript undergoes copyediting for language, consistency, references, and formatting according to the journal style.

  • Authors may be contacted for approval of final edits.

7. Proofreading

  • Page proofs are sent to authors for final checking before publication.

  • Authors are responsible for ensuring accuracy in names, affiliations, tables, figures, and references.

8. Publication

  • Accepted manuscripts are published online in the upcoming issue.

  • All articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for global indexing.

  • Articles are accessible in full-text PDF and metadata formats to ensure visibility and citation.

9. Post-Publication

  • Articles are indexed in national and international databases (e.g., DOAJ, Google Scholar, Sinta, Scopus).

  • Corrections, retractions, or withdrawals (if necessary) will follow the COPE guidelines to maintain publication integrity.
