PLAGIARISM POLICY

The editorial team of Profitability: Jurnal Ilmu Manajemen upholds a strict policy against plagiarism. Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is their original work and has not been previously published or under consideration in other journals. All forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication, are strictly prohibited.

Before the peer-review process, every submitted manuscript will be screened using Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism detection software. The similarity index must not exceed 20%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used terminology. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or directly rejected.

Types of plagiarism that are unacceptable include but are not limited to:

  1. Direct Plagiarism – Copying text, data, figures, or tables verbatim without citation.

  2. Self-Plagiarism – Republishing one’s own previously published work without proper acknowledgment.

  3. Mosaic Plagiarism – Paraphrasing or rewording content from other sources without citation.

  4. Inappropriate Citation – Improperly citing or misrepresenting sources.

  5. Duplicate Submission – Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the editorial board reserves the right to retract the article and notify the author’s affiliated institution and relevant authorities.

Authors are required to sign a statement of originality and confirm that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and ethical violations at the time of submission.
