Author Guidelines

Journal of Muhammadiyah's Application Technology (JUMPTECH)

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. Manuscripts submitted to JUMPTECH must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration by any other journal or publication outlet.
  2. Manuscripts may be in the form of:
    • Research Articles
    • Review Articles
  3. JUMPTECH publishes three issues annually:
    • February
    • June
    • October
  4. The Editorial Board reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions to any submitted manuscript.
  5. All manuscripts will undergo:
    • Initial Editorial Screening
    • Similarity Check (Turnitin)
    • Double-Blind Peer Review Process
  6. Manuscripts with excessive similarity or plagiarism will be rejected.
  7. Authors are required to submit:
    • Statement of Originality
    • Copyright Transfer Agreement
    • Ethical Clearance (if applicable)
  8. Submission is conducted through the Open Journal System (OJS):

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Language

Manuscripts may be written in:

  • Bahasa Indonesia; or
  • English

Authors whose manuscripts are written in English are encouraged to use professional proofreading services before submission.

Formatting

  • Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)
  • A4 paper size
  • Times New Roman, 11 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Top margin: 3 cm
  • Bottom margin: 2.5 cm
  • Left margin: 3.5 cm
  • Right margin: 2.5 cm
  • Maximum length: 8,000 words

ARTICLE STRUCTURE

Title

  • Written in Bahasa Indonesia or English according to the manuscript language.
  • Concise and informative.
  • Consists of 8–15 words.
  • Reflects the main variables or focus of the study.
  • Avoid abbreviations and formulas.

Author Information

Include:

  • Full author names (without academic titles)
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Email address
  • ORCID ID (recommended)
  • Corresponding author designation

Abstract

The abstract should contain:

  • Background
  • Objective
  • Method
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Length:

  • 150–250 words

Keywords:

  • 3–5 keywords

For Indonesian manuscripts:

  • Abstract (Bahasa Indonesia)
  • Abstract (English)

For English manuscripts:

  • Abstract (English)

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should contain:

  1. Research background
  2. Literature review
  3. Research gap
  4. Novelty of the study
  5. Research objectives

METHODS

The methods section should explain:

  • Research design
  • Location and time
  • Population/sample
  • Instruments
  • Data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques
  • Software/tools used

The methods must be described in sufficient detail to allow replication.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The Results and Discussion section should comprise approximately 60–70% of the manuscript.

Results

Present:

  • Research findings
  • Tables
  • Figures
  • Statistical analysis (if applicable)

Discussion

Discuss:

  • Interpretation of findings
  • Comparison with previous studies
  • Theoretical implications
  • Practical implications
  • Study limitations

Authors should avoid merely repeating results.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion should:

  • Answer the research objectives
  • Summarize key findings
  • Highlight contributions of the study
  • Provide recommendations for future research

Conclusions should be written in paragraph form.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge:

  • Funding institutions
  • Research partners
  • Supporting organizations

REFERENCES

  1. References must use APA 7th Edition style.
  2. Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  3. At least 20 references are required.
  4. At least 80% should come from:
    • Journal articles
    • Conference proceedings
  5. Priority should be given to references published within the last 10 years.
  6. Authors are encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in JUMPTECH.

ETHICS AND USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

  1. Authors are fully responsible for the originality and accuracy of their work.
  2. Artificial Intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) may be used only as writing assistance tools.
  3. AI tools must not be listed as authors.
  4. Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

  1. Register as an Author in the OJS system.
  2. Submit the manuscript through the online platform.
  3. Complete metadata information.
  4. Upload supplementary documents.
  5. Confirm submission.

Authors may track the review process through their OJS account.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
