Screening for Plagiarism
1. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed;
2. The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted;
3. An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable;
4. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Working Process:
1. Editorial Team checking manuscript on offline and online database manually (checking proper citation and quotation);
2. Editorial Team checking manuscript by using Turnitin. If it is found plagiarism indication (more than 20%), the board will reject the manuscript immediately.
Plagiarism Policy and Sanctions
Journal of Family Law and Islamic Court (JFLIC) maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. Submissions are classified into three levels of plagiarism, each carrying specific institutional actions:
| Plagiarism Level | Description | Editorial Action |
| Minor | Copying short sections or sentences from another source without extracting significant data, key ideas, or core findings. | The authors receive a formal warning and are required to revise the text and properly cite the original source. |
| Intermediate | Appropriating a substantial portion of text or literature from another paper without proper attribution or citation. | The manuscript is immediately rejected, and all listed authors are barred from submitting to the journal for one (1) year. |
| Severe | Extensive duplication of a paper, specifically involving the unauthorized reproduction of original data, results, or concepts from another publication. | The manuscript is rejected, and all listed authors are blacklisted from submitting to the journal for five (5) years. |
