Focus and Scope

Balance: Jurnal Ekonomi (p-ISSN: 1858-2192 | e-ISSN: 2686-5467) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The journal aims to provide a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to publish high-quality research that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the field of economics, both in theory and practice.

The scope of the journal covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Economics and Development Studies: regional and national development, economic growth, poverty reduction, sustainable development, and public policy.

  • Behavioral and Experimental Economics: decision-making processes, consumer and producer behavior, economic psychology, and experimental approaches to economic analysis.

  • Islamic Economics and Finance: Islamic banking and finance, zakat and waqf management, Sharia-compliant economic systems, and the integration of Islamic values into economic practices.

  • International Economics and Trade: globalization, international trade and investment, balance of payments, regional economic integration, and global financial markets.

  • Applied Economics and Econometrics: statistical economics, quantitative modeling, forecasting, impact evaluation, and data-driven economic analysis.

  • Macroeconomics and Microeconomics: production, consumption, market structures, labor economics, monetary and fiscal policies, and overall economic stability.

Balance: Jurnal Ekonomi welcomes manuscripts employing various methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, or theoretical approaches. The journal encourages submissions that offer new perspectives, models, frameworks, or empirical findings with significant contributions to academic development and practical applications in economics.
