Author Guidelines

A. General Guidelines

  1. Konfiks Journal is published four times a year.

  2. The journal accepts original scholarly manuscripts reporting research findings and/or critical literature reviews in the fields of language, literature, and the teaching of language and literature, in accordance with the journal’s focus and scope.

  3. Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian or English and formatted according to the Konfiks article layout.

  4. The main text of the manuscript must be typed using Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced.

  5. The recommended length of the manuscript is 8–19 pages, including tables, figures, and references.

  6. Manuscripts must be prepared on A4 paper size with the following margins:

    • Top: 3.22 cm

    • Bottom: 2.54 cm

    • Left: 2.54 cm

    • Right: 2.54 cm

    • Gutter: 0 cm

    • Multiple pages: Normal


B. Manuscript Organization

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

1. Front Matter

  • Article title

  • Author name(s)

  • Institutional affiliation(s)

  • Email address(es) (clearly indicate the corresponding author)

  • Abstract (Indonesian) and Abstract (English)

2. Main Text

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (if applicable)

  • Method

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

3. Back Matter

  • Acknowledgments (if any)

  • Funding Statement (if applicable)

  • AI Acknowledgment (if relevant)

  • Informed Consent and Ethical Considerations

  • Conflict of Interest

  • References

  • About the Authors


C. Title and Author Information

  1. The article title must be written in Title Case (not all capital letters), using Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, with a maximum of 12 words.

  2. Author names must be written without academic titles, not abbreviated, and placed directly below the title using Times New Roman, 9 pt, bold.

  3. Author affiliations should be indicated using superscript numbers (¹, ², ³, etc.) and written in Times New Roman, 9 pt.

  4. Each author’s institutional affiliation and email address must be provided.

  5. One author must be clearly identified as the corresponding author.


D. Abstract and Keywords

  1. Each manuscript must include an Indonesian abstract and an English abstract.

  2. Abstracts must be written in Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold italic, and single-spaced.

  3. Each abstract must be written in one paragraph consisting of 200–250 words.

  4. The abstract should briefly and clearly describe the research background, objectives, methods or approaches, main findings, and conclusions.

  5. Abstracts should not contain citations, uncommon abbreviations, tables, or figures.

  6. Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the core content of the article.


E. Main Text Formatting

  1. Section headings (e.g., Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion) must be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold.

  2. The body text must be written in Times New Roman, 11 pt, normal style, single-spaced.

  3. Foreign or non-Indonesian terms should be written in italic.

  4. New paragraphs should follow consistent indentation as applied in the manuscript.

  5. Tables and figures must:

    • be numbered consecutively and provided with clear titles;

    • be cited in the text;

    • be presented clearly and legibly (tables may use horizontal lines only; figures must be of adequate resolution).


F. References

  1. All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference section, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.

  2. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote).

  3. References must follow APA Style (6th edition) consistently.

  4. Reference requirements are as follows:

    • A minimum of 15 references;

    • At least 80% from primary sources (journal articles, theses, dissertations, proceedings, and book chapters);

    • Books may account for a maximum of 20% and should be published within the last 10 years;

    • Priority is given to nationally accredited and international journals.


G. Ethical Statements and Declarations

  1. Acknowledgments should be used to recognize institutional, financial, or technical support.

  2. A Funding Statement must be provided if the research received external funding; otherwise, authors should explicitly state that no specific funding was received.

  3. An AI Acknowledgment is required if artificial intelligence tools were used for language editing or editorial assistance. AI must not be used for data generation, analysis, or interpretation.

  4. Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all research participants and that ethical principles were observed.

  5. Authors must provide a Conflict of Interest statement, declaring either the absence or presence of any potential conflicts.


H. About the Authors

Each author must provide a brief biographical note including full name, academic position, department, institution, city, country, and email address. A recent photograph and a short curriculum vitae may be requested by the editorial office.
