Pengaruh Peningkatan Konsentrasi Karbondioksida (CO2) terhadap Pertumbuhan Populasi dan Performansi Fitoplankton Adopsi (Emiliania Huxleyi Sp) Skala Laboratorium
Abstract
Kata Kunci : Fitoplankton, Karbondioksida (CO2)
Emiliania huxleyi sp is phytoplankton, cosmopolitan with a presence throughout the world, this Phytoplankton also called coccolith, which have the general characteristics of carbonate containing lime (calcareous). This study aimed to determine the effects of increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) on the growth of phytoplankton populations and performance Emiliania huxleyi laboratory scale adoption. In this study selected five treatments and three replications, namely the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) 385 ppm, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) of 450 ppm, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) 550 ppm, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) of 650 ppm and the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) of 750 ppm. Emiliania density for data analysis conducted laboratory huxleyi sp. The parameters observed were daily growth density by using density formula is calculated each day along with the measurement of water quality, water temperature, acidity (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO) and salinity. The results showed that the density Emiliania huxleyi sp of all treatments, the highest density obtained at treatment concentration (CO2) 385 ppm, second is concentration (CO2) of 450 ppm, the third concentration (CO2) 550 ppm, a fourth concentration (CO2) of 650 ppm and ie the lowest concentration (CO2) of 750 ppm.
