Octopus, is a national scientific journal that publishes results of research and scientific review (review) in aquaculture and fisheries science. Our focus in the field related to:

Octopus is published twice a year in June and December by the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Jurnal Octopus, only processes submitted original script related to aquaculture and fisheries science and not being published by other publishers.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to the editor will be selected through an initial review process by the Editorial Board. Then, the article will be given to the peer reviewers and will continue to the double-blind peer-review process. After that, the article will be returned to the author for revision. Each article will be reviewed by a reviewer. It takes 4 to 8 weeks before publishing a quality article.

Peer Reviewers will assess the substantial and technical aspects of the article. Peer Reviewers working for Octopus Jurnal Ilmu Perikanan are experts in the field of aquaculture and fisheries science issues. They are vastly experienced in managing prestigious journals and have a broad track record of publications in reputable international journals.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

The manuscript submitted into this journal will be screened for plagiarism by OJS Editorial Board using Grammarly Plagiarism Checker and CrossCheck plagiarism screening service powered by using Turnitin.

The assessment of similarity (plagiarism) using Turnitin for Octopus articles refers to the similarity test regulations of the Credit Score System for Lecturers by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which sets a maximum limit of less than 20% overall similarity and less than 2% similarity per sentence.
