Peer Review Process

JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management applies a Double-blind Peer Review Process. All submitted manuscripts are read by the Chief Editor of JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management initially for table evaluation. Submissions that are unsuitable in terms of focus and scope will be rejected immediately without external review. Submissions that are evaluated potentially of interest to our readers will be assigned to the relevant section editor for further handling. The section editor will ask at least two scientists to review the manuscript. Based on comments from reviewers, Section Editors, and Chief Editors will make a decision on the manuscript.

The determination of articles to be published in Competitiveness is carried out through a double blind peer review by considering two main aspects, namely: relevance and contribution of articles on medical and health theory and practice development. Editors and reviewers provide constructive feedback on the evaluation results to the author. The Chief Editor of JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management has the right to determine which manuscripts will be published in the journal.

The manuscript review process usually takes 4 to 12 weeks. This review period depends on the duration of the editor and reviewer in reviewing the manuscript. If the old author does not get confirmation from us, the author can confirm via email at jppm.map@unismuh.ac.id. The stages of the review process applied in Competitiveness are as follows:

  1. Submission of manuscripts is only processed online, namely OJS JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management, website: https://journal.unismuh.ac.id/index.php/jppm
  2. The submitted manuscripts will be checked according to the focus and scope of Competitiveness. The editor will inform you whether the manuscript is in accordance with the focus and scope of JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management. If appropriate, the next process will be carried out. If not, we will recommend the manuscript to be submitted to other journals. The editor of JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management will notify you by email shortly.
  3. Then the script will be checked with Turnitin (similarity check). If the similarity level is more than 20%, then the script will be asked to be corrected or rejected by the Competitiveness Editor in Chief. This decision is fully the prerogative of the editor-in-chief of JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management and cannot be contested.
  4. Then, the manuscript will be reviewed at the editorial level to determine whether it is sufficient to contribute to the development of science and practice in the field of medicine. The editor will inform the author of the results of this review. Manuscripts that pass this stage will be continued to the review stage by two peer reviewers.
  5. For manuscripts received with revisions (minor or major) will contain comments from peer reviewers and are returned to the author for revision. Referring to the policies in our journal, reviewers only provide suggestions whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected. Meanwhile, the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript rests with the editorial staff and editor in chief.
  6. Authors are given time to revise the manuscript no later than one month. Additional time for revisions should be asked to the editor via email (jppm.map@unismuh.ac.id). If there is no notification after the stipulated time period, the author is deemed to have resigned.
  7. Manuscripts that have been finalized and accepted by the editorial staff will be published in JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management in an edition determined by the editor in chief. The author can ask the editor in chief if he wants to publish his article in a certain edition (volume and numbers). For this purpose, the author must submit a written application to the editor in chief via email JPPM: Journal of Public Policy and Management.
