A mother has been fined $400 after her son was spotted hanging out the back window of a car without a seatbelt on by another motorist.

The woman was driving in Paradise, Adelaide, at 3pm on Friday when another motorist saw her.

The woman's son was hanging outside the rear car window and 유로88 the other driver took a photo. Police were called and the woman was fined $400.

The Department for Child Protection were also contacted regarding the incident.  

Officers in Adelaide were shocked by another motorist's actions only days earlier.

A 25-year-old woman was caught reading a book behind the wheel in College Park, in the city's east on May 11.

A member of the public recorded the breach of road rules and gave the video to police. She was given a $253 fine. 

'Driving is a complex task and anything that serves as a distraction from that task, including using a mobile phone or reading a book, can significantly impair your reaction time, your ability to maintain speed and your ability to judge safe gaps in traffic,' police said in a statement.
