History
Al-Maraji’: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The journal was established in 2017 as a platform for disseminating research, theoretical studies, and innovative practices in Arabic language education, Arabic linguistics, Arabic literature, educational technology, and related fields. The publication of Volume 1 Number 1 (2017) marked the beginning of the journal’s commitment to advancing academic scholarship in Arabic language education.
In 2019, Al-Maraji’ officially obtained its International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN), namely P-ISSN 2579-8863 for the print version and E-ISSN 2656-6958 for the electronic version. Since then, the journal has been published regularly twice a year and has continuously improved its editorial management, peer-review process, and publication quality in accordance with national and international publishing standards.
A significant milestone in the journal’s development was achieved in 2024, when Al-Maraji’ received SINTA 5 Accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This accreditation reflects the journal’s commitment to maintaining academic quality, publication ethics, and scholarly impact while expanding its visibility within the national and international research communities.
Today, Al-Maraji’ continues to serve as an open-access academic journal dedicated to promoting high-quality research and fostering scholarly collaboration among researchers, lecturers, students, teachers, and practitioners in the field of Arabic language education. Through continuous improvement and innovation, the journal strives to become a recognized reference source and a reputable forum for academic discourse at both national and international levels.
