Abstract

Rapid social change due to the acceleration of globalization and technological developments requires students to possess life skills that are not only academic but also social. Social education is seen as a strategic tool in equipping students with life skills to face complex social dynamics. This study aims to examine the role of social education as a life skill in helping students face social dynamics in formal educational environments. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research type. Data sourced from national journal articles and scientific proceedings selected through purposive sampling techniques, then analyzed using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that social education plays a significant role in developing students' social communication skills, cooperation, empathy, conflict management, and social adaptation. Participatory, contextual implementation, supported by a positive school culture, can strengthen students' social readiness. In conclusion, despite facing the challenges of digital interaction, social education remains relevant as a means of strengthening life skills if adaptively integrated with technology. Therefore, social education needs to be developed systematically as an integral part of learning to form students who are adaptive and ready to face social dynamics.
