Generative AI Policy
Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Authors submitting manuscripts to RESO: Journal of Sport Coaching, Physical Education, and Sport Science must disclose any use of AI in preparing the manuscript. Generative AI tools may be used only for the following purposes:
- To enhance the manuscript’s fluency, clarity, and readability, and to identify and correct grammatical or typographical errors.
- To assist in managing citations, including generating bibliographies and formatting references according to RESO’s style guidelines.
- To verify originality and ensure compliance with standards of academic integrity.
- To support accurate, concise, and clear presentation of research findings, and to assist in processing and analyzing complex datasets.
The following uses of AI are strictly prohibited:
- Generating primary sections of the manuscript, including Introduction, Methodology, Results, or Conclusion, which must represent the authors’ own intellectual contributions and scholarly analysis.
- Fabricating, altering, or falsifying data or research results.
- Listing AI tools as authors or co-authors. AI should not appear as an author in the manuscript or references.
- Creating, altering, or manipulating visual elements, figures, or images in the submitted manuscript.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all content represents their original work and scholarly contribution, and that AI is used only as a supportive tool, not as a substitute for authorship or research effort.
