Plagiarism Policy
RESO: Journal of Sport Coaching, Physical Education, and Sport Science is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin similarity detection software. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be immediately rejected.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when an author uses ideas, data, or words from another source without proper acknowledgment. This includes:
- Specific Information: Names, dates, locations, statistics, or other precise information must be cited. General knowledge widely available in multiple sources does not require citation.
- Ideas: Any conceptual or analytical idea derived from another author must be cited, even if further developed. The original source must always be acknowledged.
- Direct Quotes: Any sequence of four or more consecutive words taken from another source must be placed in quotation marks with proper citation.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that all content is original or correctly cited. They should:
- Properly paraphrase outsourced content and provide citations.
- Avoid copying text verbatim without quotation marks.
- Submit a Turnitin similarity report upon revision, if requested.
Editorial Actions Based on Similarity Index
The editorial board evaluates manuscripts according to the Turnitin similarity index:
- Above 40%: Automatic rejection due to excessive similarity or improper citation. Resubmission is not allowed.
- 15–40%: Manuscript is returned to authors for improvement. Authors must correct citations and properly paraphrase all matched content.
- Less than 15%: Manuscript may be accepted. Minor citation improvements may be requested.
Authors are required to revise manuscripts carefully and resubmit with a new Turnitin report showing similarity below 15%, free of plagiarism.
Enforcement
The editorial team takes plagiarism seriously. Violation of these standards may result in withdrawal of acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. For further inquiries, authors may contact reso@unismuh.ac.id
