Focus and Scope

Journal of Forest Services is a biannual open access journal by the Department of Forestry, University of Muhammadiyah Makassar, Indonesia, that publishes peer-reviewed scientific articles focusing on aspects of forest management, silviculture, forest conservation, forest products technology and environmental management related to community. These may include but are not limited to various fields such as Community-Based Forest Management, watershed management, Forest and Environment Policies, Forest Economic Valuation, forest economics, Hydrology, Soil Erotion, Geospatial and Remote Sensing, land use and land cover change, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, forest plant breeding, Forest Physiology and Phenology,  Forest harvesting, Conservation of Forest Recources, Wildlife management and Population Dynamics, Ecotourism, Mangrove Ecology, Potency and Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products, Bioenergy, forest biomass and carbon dynamics, Environmental impact assessment of forest products processing, forest product marketing and entrepreneurship

Peer Review Process

Publication Ethics

This scientific code of ethics regulates the parties involved in the Forest Services Journal publication process which includes managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. This Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethics in publications, namely Neutrality, free from conflicts of interest in managing publications; Fairness, giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

Publisher Responsibilities

  1. The publisher of the Forest Services Journal is the Forestry Study Program of the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar has the responsibility of publishing articles that have gone through the editing, review, and layout processes in accordance with the rules of publishing Scientific Journals.
  2. Forest Services Journal publishers are responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
  3. Forest Services Journal publishers are responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property and copyright, and editorial freedom.

Editor/Editor Responsibilities

  1. Forest Services Journal editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are eligible for publication. The editor's decision is determined through an editorial board meeting which refers to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
  2. In the process of reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the editorial team of Forest Services Journal is based on the principle of equal treatment in making decisions to publish manuscripts by not distinguishing the race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the author.
  3. The editor and editorial board of Forest Services Journal will not disclose any information about the manuscript or the manuscript entered except with the author's permission.
  4. Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by Forest Services Journal editors' research for their own benefit and will be returned directly to their authors.

Responsibilities of Reviewer/Peer reviewer

Reviewer of Forest Services journal assists editors in making editorial decisions on incoming manuscripts

  1. Reviewer of Forest Services journal is responsible for the recommendations of the manuscripts it reviews.
  2. The study of the manuscript is carried out objectively, and is supported by clear argumentation.
  3. Reviewer of Forest Services journal is responsible for citations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism of the manuscripts they review.
  4. Reviewer of Forest Services journal must always maintain the confidentiality of information and not use information from the manuscripts it reviews for personal gain/interest.

 Author Responsibilities

  1. The author must present the manuscript of his thoughts or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
  2. The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted for the manuscript that has been written.
  3. The author must show references from the opinions and works of others cited
  4. Authors must write manuscripts ethically, honestly and responsibly, in accordance with applicable scientific writing regulations.

The author does not mind if the manuscript undergoes editing in the review and layout  process without changing the substance or main idea of the writing.

 

Copyright Notice

With the receipt of the article by the Editorial Board of the Forest Services journal and it was decided to be published, then the copyright regarding the article will be diverted to Forest Services journal

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
