Identifikasi Penyakit Karang pada Karang Keras (Scleractinia) di Pulau Barrang Lompo
Abstract
Kata Kunci: Penyakit, Karang Keras dan Pulau Barrang Lompo
This study starts from a number of problems in hard coral disease that can be triggered by the presence of disease progress more quickly. Under these conditions, research on the identification of coral disease in hard corals (Scleractinia) important to do on the island Lompo Goods. The initial stage of research conducted through positioning coordinates infected coral disease, determination of disease carried by mounting Belt Transect (belt transect) measuring 20 X 2 meters. Installation of belt transects conducted on the northwestern part of the island contained the disease. Identification of coral and disease by Veron (1990), Suharsono (2008), Beeden et al., (2008) handbook by Raymundo coral disease in 2008 and Ernesto Weil and Anthony J. Hooten 2008. The use of underwater cameras will help to identify and documenting coral disease were obtained. Based on the results of a survey conducted on the island Barrang Lompo, it can be concluded that the disease that infects the hard coral islands are White Syndrome (WS), Black Band Disease (BBD) and Brown Band Disease (BrBD), where the disease WS more dominant infect Porites sp and BBD disease infects Pachyseris sp and BrBD disease found infecting the branching Acropora corals.
